In the United States, osteopathic physicians, or D.O.’s, that practice osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) are in demand. There seems to be a problem though. The public does not seem to know how to find them. Part of the reason for this is that in the U.S. most D.O.’s practice all specialties of medicine. Only a small percentage of them practice OMM. It does not appear to be easy for the general public to differentiate osteopathic physicians that practice OMM versus those who do not.
Very often I have patients complain to me how difficult it is to find an osteopath that performs osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). They mention that there is not a clear resource for it and do not know how to find D.O.’s near them that gives quality osteopathic treatments. They do not know how to search for D.O.’s in other places when they want to refer a friend or family member that lives in another part of the country.
OMT Directory was created to be a resource for the public to find an osteopathic physician that performs OMT. It is meant to solely have D.O.’s that include OMT in their practice.
